CLUES
Was Amelia Earhart on a spy mission for the U.S. government; checking on military ctivities in the Japanese Mandated Islands of Micronesia? Was she captured by the Japanese and taken to Saipan? If so, what happened to the plane and Earhart and Noonan?

In a letter Hagley sent to his wife in 1944 he remarked: “There is a lot of chatter on the island concerning Amelia Earhart.” “Some of my buddies say she was held in captivity on Saipan with her plane hidden somewhere on the island.” One of Hagley’s photos shows an intact airlplane hangar on Isely Field large enough to hold Earhart’s Lockheed Electra. Another shows a bombed out hangar still standing with a plane inside. Both of these images have been carefully analyzed and studied by historians and scientific experts. Could they hold a clue in solving the Mystery of Saipan? The Hagleys hope to find out when they make a trip to Saipan in November of this year to film their documentary, Mystery of Saipan.
